About the Elitech RC-55
The Elitech RC-55 is a single-use probe temperature logger that records temperature from -30 to +70°C through an external probe. Elitech specifies the RC-55 at ±0.5°C (-20 to +40°C) accuracy with 0.1°C resolution. Down to -30°C, the RC-55 covers 2–8°C fridges as well as -20°C freezers.
Memory holds 32,000 readings with an interval settable from 10 s to 12 h (factory-set), about 333 days of logging at 15-minute steps. Elitech lists the maximum runtime of the RC-55 as 10, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180 or 360 days (customizable). Recording on the RC-55 starts by time delay. Plugging the RC-55 into a PC through its USB 2.0 connector creates a PDF report automatically. Alarm options on the RC-55 are single and cumulative (up to 3 high and 2 low).
Physically, the RC-55 has IP67 protection and a sealed, non-replaceable battery. In practice the Elitech RC-55 fits one-way pharma and food shipments, 2–8°C or frozen.
