About the Frigga B9Z
The Frigga B9Z is a single-use real-time logger that sends temperature over 2G using an embedded Vodafone SIM. Readings go to the Frigga cloud platform and Frigga Track app, with alerts by SMS, email and app notification, and it does not report location.
It measures -30 to +70°C at ±0.5°C. Memory holds up to 28,800 readings, with a 10-minute logging interval that can be changed from the cloud platform. Frigga quotes a maximum of 60 days of runtime, and battery life of 60 days at a 60-minute reporting interval. Reports export as PDF or CSV, and there is a Micro USB port and an LCD.
The limitations: it depends on 2G coverage along the route, it has no GPS, and 60 days of runtime is short for long sea freight. Unstarted units have a 12-month shelf life. It lists RTCA DO-160G and UN38.3, which suits domestic road and air shipments that need live alerts.
